TNO is an independent research organisation whose expertise and research make an important contribution to the competitiveness of companies and organisations
CESAR aims for a breakthrough in the development of low-cost post-combustion CO2 capture technology to provide economically feasible solutions for both new power plants and retrofit of existing power plants which are responsible for the majority of all anthropogenic CO2 emissions
The overall objective of DECARBit is to enable zero-emission pre-combustion power plants by 2020 with a capture cost of less than 15€/ton with the highest feasible capture rate.
The overall objective of CAESAR is the reduction of energy penalty and costs of the SEWGS CO2 capture process through optimization of sorbent materials, reactor- and process design.
E.ON is one of the largest energy providers in Europe. Boosting the yield from energy is our business - indeed, it is our mission. E.ON Benelux concentrates on the production and supply of electricity and gas to private customers and business customers.

Dear participants,

As you will know there is no flight traffic to of from Europe at least until 14.00h today. Hopefully it will be possible again in the afternoon or in the evening. For the conference "CCS-Ready to go?" this means that there are participants and speakers that are not able to join, or they will join later. Note that many speakers and participants use alternative transportation to come to Rotterdam. To make sure that the conference will still be a great success we are changing the programme and we will provide participants to follow the conference online, on this website. We will change the programme so that the speakers who are able to be in Rotterdam in time will speak on the Tuesday and the speakers that join later have the possibility to present on Wednesday. For the slots that stay open we will provide you with new speakers such as David Krenbrink from Algaetech on CO2 use on growing algae and Henk Pagnier from TNO.

Today you will receive a new programme and this will be available here on our site.

We will keep you informed.

Please let us know if you are not able to come.

We are looking for to welcome you.

Best Regards,
Inès van Arkel

Word of Welcome

Dear sir/madam,

It is a pleasure, to announce this European Conference on CCS Research, Development and Demonstration. This conference will give you an excellent opportunity to exchange views with European key players and to get updated on the newest findings on CCS. We will provide you a programme with enough time for networking, excellent research results and visionary key note speakers.

The FP7 project CESAR, coordinated by TNO, is honoured to organise this conference in cooperation with the FP7 projects CAESAR and DECARBit and the networking groups of CO2NET and CO2GeoNet. This event is the follow-up on the successful EU conference held in Oslo in February 2009 and CO2NET's Annual Seminar held in Trondheim in June 2009.

The conference will take place at Hilton Rotterdam hotel, Weena 10 Rotterdam, 3012 CM, the Netherlands. Rotterdam is the city with the ambition to reduce CO2 emissions by 50% by 2025.
